Something from the Heart
Our Something from the Heart Campaign is a celebration of our community’s support of its neighbors. People come to the Needs Council fearful, often in despair after the loss of a job, significant illness in the family, abuse or other hardship.
Funds raised through this campaign meet the most critical needs of our neighbors. Donations made February - March are matched 100% up to $100,000 thanks to a generous grant by the Dian Graves Owen Foundation.

Assistance is provided for housing, utilities, child care, medications, emergency medical procedures, dental, hearing and vision expenses.
Counseling & Domestic violence support
Victims of physical, emotional and sexual abuse receive critical counseling by licensed professionals. As they get their lives back on track, clients are also provided budgeting, goal-setting and financial planning assistance.
Needs Council volunteers provide “friendly support” to homebound seniors and rides to medical appointments since many have no family nearby. Community members adopt and provide gifts to these seniors and disabled adults at Christmas.
Child & Family Services
Children and their families are provided assistance with coats, school supplies, food, childcare, scholarships, parenting classes and Christmas assistance with the help of many community volunteers.
